Artist's Comments

Okay now...it's been...what? Two months? He's finally done, and I'm actually pretty happy with the way he turned out. Admittedly, he looks basically the same as he goes in in animé...but he's manmade. It can look like whatever I (or the person who originally engineered it) wants! That being said, I'm really proud of his internal design. I have my father's superior knowledge of physics and engineering to thank for that.

My next project (that looks like it probably won't be done until the middle of December...2013) is not, in fact a pokémon. I have decided to do another Nintendo creature that has yet to be realistically rendered. I think it's going to be a Wizzrobe, but it's really up in the air until the pencil hits the paper. Any suggestions?

Oh...and sorry about the cut off edge... :-\

This ridiculous suicidal terrorist pokemon was brought to you by me...but is technically owned by Nintendo and Gamefreak.

Very detailed and the shading is great on the Voltorb.

You could do someone like Link from Zelda or possibly a Final Fantasy character. Either of those would be interesting. ^_^

Thank you! I'm glad you like it!

I generally like to do official Nintendo characters/creatures, so I don't know about Final Fantasy, but even so, both Link and most of the characters and monsters from Final Fantasy are already fairly realistic in their illustration. I was looking more for something from a more cartoon-like game, like Mario or the older Zelda games.

You're very welcome. ^_^

Ah, okie dokie. That would make perfect sense.

It just came to me, but you could do Kirby or any of the other characters in that series, unless you've done him already. That would be a fun idea since whatever he sucks up usually doesn't return. XD

If your gonna do a Wizzrobe, I think you should do it based off the Windwaker version. It was easily the best and could turn out like a chozo from the metroid series, albeit a little different with a big hat.

Full view... its natures way.

I'm sorry I forgot to say how intresting this design is. It certainly sheds some light on the "biology" of voltorbs, I mean that's gotta be hard, working out how a ball that kills itself works. I think you did an awesome job of it too.

And why the long pause between deviations?

If I do wizzrobes, I will explain the presence of all the different varieties we have seen. The ones from the Wind Waker I have decided are essentiall rogue "toucan" ritos, who practice magic. Wizzrobe itself isn't really a creature...it's more of a class, if you're down with that sort of lingo.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out too, especially considering just how obtuse a "creature" voltorb really is.

The long pause is...well...read my latest journal entry. ;-)

I can dig it.

Dude, you're a genius! You have such an original way of representing pokemon, and most of the stuff you have to engineer yourself.
